Clean Windows, Screens & Tracks
Whole HouseSeasonalEvery 6 months
Wash window glass, rinse screens, and vacuum out tracks so windows open smoothly and let in more natural light.
Supplies You'll Need
- Glass cleaner or vinegar-water solution
- Microfiber cloths
- Vacuum with brush attachment
- Garden hose
- Old toothbrush
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Remove window screens and rinse them with a garden hose, scrubbing gently with soapy water if needed. Let them air dry.
- Vacuum dirt, dead bugs, and debris out of each window track.
- Scrub stubborn track grime with an old toothbrush dipped in soapy water, then wipe dry.
- Spray the glass with cleaner and wipe with a microfiber cloth in an S-pattern from top to bottom.
- Wipe down window sills and frames to remove moisture and prevent mold.
- Reinstall the dry screens and check each window opens and locks smoothly.
๐ก Pro Tips
- Clean windows on a cloudy day โ direct sun dries the cleaner too fast and leaves streaks.
- A little silicone spray in the tracks keeps sticky windows sliding smoothly.
